Né Philip Kunia Kahahawaii Jr., then hânai into the Pahinui family as Philip Kunia Pahinui. 1997: Posthumous winner of a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award under the auspices of the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts. Better known as Phillip Kunia “Gabby Pops” Pahinui.
