Gérard Grisey (June 17, 1946 in Belfort - November 11, 1998 in Paris) was a French composer, most notably known for his spectral music compositions. In 1973 he co-founded the Ensemble L'Itinéraire ensemble for electro-acoustic experimental music. He also was a teacher at, among others, the University of California, Berkeley and the Conservatoire de Paris.
