Giancarlo Andretta

Italian conductor, born 1962 in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. He attended at conservatories in Veneto and Vienna in the late 1980's, where he graduated 'cum laude'. After spending some years in Vienna, he had steady or temporary engagements all over Europe, including Berlin, Zurich, Munich, Dresden, Amsterdam, Antwerpen, Copenhagen, Stokholm, Oslo, Tampere, Dublin, Prague, Budapest, Athen, Lisbon, Venice, Rome, Verona, Parma, Ravenna and Granada. In 2005, he gained a professorship in Denmark, where he was guest conductor in Copenhagen (2001-2010) and later in Aarhus. Recently, he is active in Göteborg, Amsterdam and Venice.
