Gun Lund

Swedish classical soloist, dancer and choreographer, active in Gothenburg, born on 31 January 1943.

In 1978, Gun Lund co-founded the dance group Rubicon. In 1987 she helped start the dance scene Unga Atalante where she served as artistic director for about ten years and since 1993 she runs E=mc2 Danskonst which is an experimental dance ensemble.

Among other things, she has worked in an interdisciplinary field where she investigated the meeting between art and science. Her best-known works include I Gudars Skymning (1989), Världens Tak - Pamir i vår hjärtan (1993), Images of Dream and Death (1995), Tabula Rasa (1996), Myon-spin (1999) and Omtagning - with new signs (2004). In 2011, she created the dance piece Neither based on musings about quarks, the smallest particles in the interior of the atomic nucleus.

Together with Lars Persson, she ran Sweden's smallest dance scene 24 square in Gothenburg from 2002–2010. There is also a scaled and movable copy of the scene, which can be set up in any location. Since the fall of 2010, Gun Lund and Lars Persson have been the artistic directors of the 3rd floor, a 600 square meter art center with a dance stage, studio, exhibition hall, concept store, archive and library, located in the old sugar mill at Klippan in Gothenburg.

She was awarded the Swedish Theater Critics' Dance Award in 2005.
