Guy Green (5 November 1913, Frome, Somerset, England — 15 September 2005, Beverly Hills, California) was a British film director, producer, screenwriter, and cinematographer, one of the British Society of Cinematographers' co-founders, notable for reaching the top tier in cinema both in the UK and the United States. Green became the first English director of photography to win an Oscar in 1946 for David Lean's black-and-white drama Great Expectations. A few of his other accolades included the Palme d'Or nomination for his drama The Mark at the 1961 Cannes Film Festival, and OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in 2004.
