Producer, designer and art director for Island Records and founder of Island Records, devoted to bringing black American music to Britain. He was also the in-house D.J. at The Scene in West Ham Yard, The Scene. He died at just 38, shortly after his work with The Clash on "London Calling" from an O.D. on a drug he was taking to help curb his alcoholism.
