Bristol's 4 piece HAAL announce their debut EP, 'Back To Shilmarine' via imprint Babka Records, out May 10th 2024. After 3 years together writing as a band, ‘Back To Shilmarine’ celebrates the culmination of all of their artistic touchstones into one honed vision. Exploring ideas of despair, cosmic revelation and personal inquiry, the EP draws inspiration from a myriad of artistic mediums, whether that’s introspective musings by 19th century poets, video game narratives or even short stories written by friends of the band. Best consumed by the solitary listener, ‘Back To Shilmarine’ invites them to reflect on these ideas, all whilst set to a caustic yet, melodic soundtrack detailing monolithic soundscapes, abstracted samples & fleeting moments of uninhibited rage.
