Swedish pianist, piano teacher, conductor and composer, born September 7, 1920 in Stockholm, died February 12, 2011 in Stockholm.
He was born to German-Austrian parents who had migrated to Sweden. He studied piano in Stockholm with the Artur Schnabel trained, Gottfrid Boon, and with Anna Hirzel-Langenhan in Switzerland. In addition, he studied composition and conducting at the Universities of Munich and Stockholm. He was a professor of piano at the Universität Mozarteum, Salzburg, Austria between 1972 and 1990, however he continued to give lessons to a select number of students there until 2007.
