    Hiroshima Mon Amour

New wave, post punk, alternative rock from Italy Biography The Italian band Hiroshima Mon Amour was formed in November 1994 by Carlo Furii, with the aim of keeping the '80s new wave genre alive into the '90s. In the summer of 1998, Hiroshima Mon Amour signed with a record label to finally record their first album. The group recorded throughout the winter, and in June 1999 they released Anno Zero, featuring eight of their best tracks. The album was preceded by a mini-CD containing five experimental electronic songs, recorded in February of the same year. Both releases achieved immediate success. In November 2000, HMA released their second album, Dedicata. This new album diverged from the acoustic style of Anno Zero, marking a return to the more fluid, electronic sound characteristic of the group’s earlier years. In November 2004, Hiroshima Mon Amour celebrated their ten-year anniversary by releasing a collection of previously unreleased songs recorded over the course of their career. This album, titled Cambio 1995/2001, reflects a band in constant evolution, shaped by frequent lineup changes and a desire to explore every facet of the new wave genre. The band remains active and released their latest album, Australasia, in 2015. Hiroshima Mon Amour are: Carlo Furii (vocals) Massimo Di Gaetano (guitars) Marcello Malatesta (keyboards, bass) Livio Rapini (drums)
