About

After the dissolution of the Royal Crescent Mob, Harold "Happy" Chichester moved from bass to guitar and lead vocals, adding Andy Harrison on guitar, Jim Rico on bass, Jerome Dillon on drums. Their debut album, Honeysuckle Strange, was released on Columbia Records in 1996. The soundtrack to the 1996 movie Beautiful Girls features Howlin' Maggie's "Easy to Be Stupid". After a brief period of inactivity, Chichester reformed the band with Lance Ellison on guitar, Christian Hurd (of area band Templeton) on bass, and former Royal Crescent Mob drummer Carlton Smith. The new lineup released Hyde in 2001, but Chichester retired the Howlin' Maggie moniker two years later in favor of releases under his own name, with a lone reunion show in 2010.
