American pianist, violinist, conductor, composer and arranger (August 26, 1873 – February 13, 1952).
Between 1916 and 1924, Frey played piano, wrote arrangements for, and sometimes conducted Victor's house orchestra. He is often credited as Director of The Troubadours, The Manhattan Merrymakers, The Great White Way Orchestra, and other aliases under which the house orchestra released records. From 1921, Frey also served on the staff of several music-publishing companies in New York.
Frey composed several hits, including "Uncle Tom" and "Havanola."
