Hypno5e

Cinematic metal band from Montpellier, France. Formed in 2004 by Emmanuel Jessua and Thibault Lamy under name "Hypnose". Both sharing passions for music and cinema, the duo create the first songs based on earlier compositions Jessua made during his stay in Mexico in early 2000s, with inspiration came from a need to translate his youthful years in Bolivia into music.

Guitarist Jérémie Lautier and bassist Cédric "Gredin" Pagés joined the band, who released the "Manuscrit Côté MS408" EP in 2006 and started writing "Des Deux L'Une Est L'Autre", the first album, that was released in 2007. From then on, Hypno5e started touring on their own, and finally decided to release their albums themselves. 2009 saw the release of "A Backward Glance On A Travel Road", an album released with the alter ego A Backward Glance On A Travel Road.

Around 2011 Lautier left the band, replaced by a long time fan of the band, Jonathan Maurois. The somophore album, "Acid Mist Tomorrow", came in 2012. After an extended tour, founding member Lamy decided to quit the band as a live member. Theo Begue later joined as the new band's drummer. The lineup hasn't changed during the next four releases: "Shores Of The Abstract Line" (2016), "Alba - Les Ombres Errantes" (2018; second released with the A Backward Glance On A Travel Road alter ego name), "A Distant (Dark) Source" (2019), and the live album "A Distant Dark Source Experience".

During summer 2021 Begue left the band after many postponed concerts and tours due to the COVID-19 emergency and was replaced by touring member Maxime Mangeant, who played all European tour dates since September 2021, supporting Jinjer together with Space Of Variations. 2022 saw Pierre Rettien joining the band as the new drummer, but also the departure of Gredin after 17 years, replaced by Charles Villanueva. With this new lineup the band will release the new album Sheol in February 2023.
