Igor Wakhévitch

Igor Wakhévitch is a French avant-garde composer, producer, keyboardist and painter, born 12 May 1948 in Gassin-Saint Tropez, France. As the son of Georges Wakhévitch, he learnt music from a young age. At the age of 6, he was taught by French classical pianist Marguerite Long, and he was also a pupil of Olivier Messiaen. In 1974, he collaborated with Salvador Dalí, which resulted in their opera poem [m153271]. He has also collaborated with Carolyn Carlson and Terry Riley, for instance. He's considered as one of the first French composers using synthesizers such as the Moog, the ARP2066 or the Synthi AKS. He has spent almost 30 years in India.
