In the 1920s, performed under the name "Irene Armstrong Eady." In 1930s, briefly married to jazz pianist Teddy Wilson, and quit performing after moving to New York City. Friend of Billie Holiday and later collaborated with lyricist Arthur Herzog, Jr. Married Elden Kitchings in the 1940s.
