Iris Kroes

Iris Kroes was born on November 11, 1992 and comes from the Frisian town of Drachten. She has been singing since she could talk and has played the harp for over 15 years. Iris Kroes has found a unique combination here. With her voice she touches the sensitive chord.

Iris Kroes, an artist in heart and soul, immediately attracted attention with her stunning participation in The Voice of Holland. Nearly four million Dutch people saw her win the final of The Voice of Holland 2012, but she doesn't let herself be fooled. Sobriety is 27-year-old Iris' strongest strength. “I'm just Iris from Friesland,” she emphasizes. “I just want to be able to sing for people as long as possible, share my voice and write songs. Music is everything to me, I am completely absorbed in it. That will always be the case.” Thanks to her unique combination, Iris is a welcome guest at events at special locations. Iris has performed several times for members of the Royal House, has been touring the world with her own #IrisCruise show for years as a guest entertainer on cruise ships and plays many with orchestras.

Iris describes herself as a bon vivant and an optimist. Those traits can be heard in the way she talks about her life as a musician. “I see this as an adventure that I enjoy immensely,” says the singer. “I always want to keep working hard and learn a lot, because I'm still a long way from growing up. My ship (sometimes literally) departs from rivers to the great ocean and I enjoy every moment.”
