Ironbound

Polish Heavy Metal band formed in 2014 in Rybnik. Line-up: Łukasz Krauze - Vocals Michał Halamoda - Lead Guitar Krzysztof Całka - Rhythm Guitar Zbyszek Bizoń - Bass Adam Całka - Drums The beginning of the group Ironbound can be dated on the first quarter of year 2014, when three longtime friends come up with a spontaneous idea to create a new formation…formation playing the kind of music that Silesian lands haven’t heard for a very long time. In the first stage of activity the group consists of Zbigniew Bizoń (bass guitar) and two brothers Adam Całka (drums) and Krzysztof Całka (rhythm guitar). Since the very begging of the band their aim was bright and clear – playing and creating classical Heavy Metal inspired mainly by bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon or Turbo. But as it usually happens, the beginnings are never easy…and no exceptions were in that case. Despite personal shortages first rehearsals start in January 2014. The band takes its first steps in creating its own compositions and seeking out additional people. With every rehearsal ‘the new faces’ appear, trying to take their place as the lead guitarist. But none of the so far candidates did meet the expectations. Around April as a result of musical audition old friend Michał Halamoda joins the group as the solo guitarist. But still the biggest problem is the empty place of a frontman, a man who would lead the band into charge. As it turns out later, search will take a very, very long time… 2014 passes mainly on seeking the vocalist, creating new material and achieving right level of co-playing. In June the unknown formation finally gets its name which is Ironbound. At the same time the band has its first ups and downs. With time first candidates starts to show up trying their strength as a vocalist, bringing first doubts and disappointments to the band. With the end of 2015 long awaited change finally come which leads the band into the new chapter. Around October another old friend Bartosz Bieżuński joins the formation who is the first serious candidate to stand behind the mic for a very long time. After the group is finally complete hard work start with a full swing. First lyrics and vocal lines are created. The whole picture gets its right colors. Another half year the group devotes to practicing and at the beginning of spring 2016 they are ready to conquer the world with their music. The band starts promoting their compositions using every opportunity to show themselves. After a few really well received gigs the group is finally ready to walk into studio and record their tracks which would give the opportunity to promote their music on a national and global scale. Ironbound decides to record the four best received and well-knit tracks. Work over the demo start with a full swing. After months of sweat, blood and tears the awaited child named “She-Devil” comes to the world. “She-Devil” meets with a very good receive by fans as well by reviewers. Months pass on playing gigs and making great plans for the future. Unfortunately another obstacles lie on their way. For unknown reasons the vocalist Bartosz Bieżuński decides to leave the band and abandon the group 8 hours before the show. To this day the reasons of his departure are a mystery. The band is at the brink of getting of the stage, more arduous searches or even dissolving the group. Despite the unfortunate events the four friends make a decision to play that night not letting down their fans. As it turns out later, the rescue comes earlier than anyone would expect. Łukasz Krauze, known mainly from playing in Heavy Metal formation Event Urizen decides to help four complete strangers with his strong and high voice knowing only the tracks by ear. The show that night with a guest performance of Łukasz Krauze without any doubt can be reckoned as a very well gig. Especially taking into consideration the circumstances of that ill-fated day. After few days when emotions tied with a Bartek’s departure finally cool down, the group unanimously makes a decision to propose Łukasz a constant partnership. After a while of uncertainty the great news come and the family of Ironbound expends by another member. Again, the band is fully charged with power and enthusiasm to create music. Hard work starts once more to play over the already made material as well creating new compositions. After some time the group is finally ready to hit the road again and fight for its place in the world of metal music. What the time will bring…none of us really know.
