    Australian concert pianist (b. Capetown, South Africa 27 May 1909 - d. Sydney 2 Dec., 1982) Child prodigy who first performed aged 5 and played with the Capetown Symphony Orchestra aged 7. His family moved to the UK in 1921 and he studied at Royal College of Music in London. First records (1926) were two test pieces for the British Imperial label (unissued) aged 17. Came to Australia in 1930 to teach at NSW Conservatorium.
