    Born: 17th May 1929 Bishop, Texas, USA Died: 15th August 2004 Helped pioneer Tejano music. His nickname "El Indio" reflected his heritage from his Mescalera Apache father. Inducted into the Tejano Music Award's Hall Of Fame in 1983.
