(July 3, 1550 – July 18, 1591) (a.k.a. Jacob(us) Handl, Jacob(us) Händl, Jacob Gallus; Slovene: Jakob Petelin Kranjski) was a late Renaissance composer of Slovenian origin. Born in Carniola, which was part of the Habsburg Holy Roman Empire at the time, he lived and worked in Moravia and Bohemia during the last decade of his life.
