James Rivers

About

Tenor saxophonist, occasional singer, songwriter and producer from New Orleans. Under his own name Rivers made but a handful records (a 45 for the Ron label in 1960, three more 45s for the Eight-Ball label in 1966) during the era of classic New Orleans rhythm & blues, but he can be heard in the backing bands on records with rhythm & blues artists such as Eddie Bo, Earl King, Big Boy Myles, Robert Parker, Professor Longhair.
