Originally known as The Mirage. After that group broke up, drummer David Hynes and guitarist/lead singer Dee Murray joined the Spencer Davis Group in late 1968. In spring 1969, Hynes left the Spencer Davis Group and rejoined the other former members of the Mirage, who signed with Carnaby (3) and changed their name to Portebello Explosion. After one single, they changed the name to Jawbone
