Jesse Garon & The Desperadoes were an Edinburgh based Indie group active between 1985-1990. Originally made up of musicians Andrew Tully (guitars/vocals), Eric Webster & Angus McPake (bass guitar), Fran Schoppler (vocals), Margarita Vasquez-Ponte (drums), Kevin McMahon (guitars), and Stuart Clarke (guitar), the line-up would record the first 2 singles 'Splashing Along' & 'The Rain Fell Down', where Clarke & McMahon would leave soon after. For the group's 3rd release, the 'Billy The Whizz E.P.' guitar roles would draft in Bruce Hopkins and John Robb. They would later be replaced by Micheal Kerr of Meat Whiplash.
Moving to Velocity Records in 1989, Jesse Garon & The Desperadoes would release 'A Cabinet Of Curiosities', a collection of their past works in one handy record. The following year saw the group's sole album 'Nixon' released, with the leading single 'Grand Hotel'. Their final release, 'Hold Me Now / Grand Hotel' came out October 1990.
In July 2024 the band's '86 Janice Long session was released digitally & on limited edition vinyl by Precious Recordings of London
