She charted 12 times (11 in the U.K, once in the U.S.) between 1953 and 1961. Her top charting single was " If I Give My Heart to You", which landed at #3 in the U.K. in 1954. She also charted with her son Rusty in 1955 with the song "Open Up Your Heart", which landed at #19 in the U.K. Joan appeared in several shows at the London Palladium, including 'We're Having A Ball' with Max Bygraves, 'Stars In Your Eyes' with Russ Conway, Cliff Richard, Edmund Hockridge and Billy Dainty, pantomime with Frankie Vaughan and Jimmy Edwards and several Royal Command Performances.
