Dutch baroque musician and composer (born 3 June 1660 in Amsterdam – died after 1712). He was a renowned virtuoso viola da gamba player. Around 1696 he accepted an appointment to the court of Johann Wilhelm, Elector Palatine in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Not to be confused with the German composer and pianist, Johannes Schenk (born 1961).
