US guitarist (* 31 July 1971 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan). John 5 replaced former Antichrist Superstar guitarist Zim Zum in 1998 while the band was in the midst of recording their third LP release, Mechanical Animals. John5 was the fifth member to join Marilyn Manson; hence the name. Since his joining the band, John has proved to be an able, confident guitarist. John has worked as a studio musician and a guitarist for David Lee Roth, KD Lang and several other bands.
