Josef Anton Riedl (June 11, 1929 in München, Bavaria, Germany – March 25, 2016 in Murnau am Staffelsee, Bavaria, Germany) was a German composer and multimedia artist. A pioneer of concrete and electronic music composition, Riedl co-founded and became music director of Siemens Studio für elektronische Musik in Munich (1956-66). The composer also created mutimedia events after establishing the Musik/Film/Dia/Licht galerie in Munich in 1967. Riedl founded and directed Kultur Forums in Bonn (1974-82). Since 1987, he has been involved in Bonner Tage Neuer Musik festival and Musica viva festival Munich.
