Karen Sander

Sabine Klewe, also known under the pseudonym Karen Sander (born February 1, 1966 in Düsseldorf) is a German author who mainly publishes crime novels.
Sabine Klewe studied literature and literary translation in Düsseldorf and London. Before devoting herself entirely to writing, she worked for ten years as a freelance literary translator and lecturer at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.
In November 2006, she received the Carinthian Crime Fiction Prize (3rd place) for her short story "Marilyn" and in December 2006, she was awarded the Literature Prize of the state capital Düsseldorf. In 2014, she completed her doctorate on the British crime writer Val McDermid.
Since 2004, she has published five thrillers about the amateur investigator Katrin Sandmann. Her 12th novel to date was published in April 2013: The White Shadows of the Night is the second case for the Düsseldorf investigative duo Lydia Louis and Christopher Salomon. In August 2013, the first volume of a new thriller series, Schwesterlein, komm stirb mit mir, was published under the pseudonym Karen Sander, which made it onto the bestseller list. It has been followed by three further volumes. Together with Martin Conrath, she has written several historical crime novels under the pseudonym Sabine Martin.
Sabine Klewe is a member of the Cologne-Düsseldorf Crime Committee. She is the mother of three sons and lives in Bilk.
