Kenny Sharp

Kenny Sharp first made his name in the Rave scene as a resident DJ and co-promoter of the legendary rave "Uprising" in the North of England around '94 and '95. Before then, Kenny Sharp had been a popular DJ in the local area, but Uprising gave him the chance to be known on a bigger scale. As the resident Trance DJ at the club, Kenny sharp played his unique brand of uplifting, hard and upbeat trance to hundreds of clubbers every week. Also resident at Uprising was the up and coming DJ M-Zone, whose style was not unlike that of Kenny, but just a little harder. After playing together for several months, the two became friends and Kenny was signed to write a track for release on M-Zone's new label, Teach Yourself Techno. Kenny did just that releasing "Missing You", the first release on the new label and one of Uprising's most well known anthems. From this point on, Kenny began his producing career, notching up several releases across the UK44 Records stable, making guest appearances on several others, performing as part of the UK44 Live PA team and starting his own label, Uprising Trance.
As well as the producing aspect, Kenny started playing clubs around the country and in 1999 left Uprising to concentrate more on his own nights including "Trancentral" and "Destiny".
Now, Ten years on, and after a brief return to Uprising, Kenny and fellow co-creator DJ Paul-O have gone on to create their new night "Recycle", a night dedicated to the tunes of Rave's heyday, 1995-2000.
