Kid Kishore was an early alias of the Danish electronic musician, producer, and sound engineer Hari Shankar Kishore, more widely known as DJ Hvad. In 2007, Kishore released his breakthrough single Klap Perker (which roughly translates to "Paki…" or "sand n**ger bass drop") — a hardcore grime electro/breakcore track with socially-conscious lyrics inspired by the artist's upbringing in Albertslund, Copenhagen's suburb where many Muslim minorities resided. Amidst heightened social tensions and an uprising anti-immigrant stance in Denmark, leading to a series of youth riots in mid-2007, Kid Kishore and his aggressive music became highly relevant as a "voice of the generation."

The aspiring artist gained broader recognition throughout 2008, performing at prominent venues and events nationwide, such as the Roskilde Festival. Kid Kishore released his debut LP album, Perker Tech, via his newly-established breakcore label Roskilde Festival.
