She began her career in the 1990s fronting a rockabilly band, later expanding to retro roots / rhythm and blues music in her solo career. Lenz grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and San Diego, California and lived in Los Angeles before moving to the Dallas, Texas area, where she began performing with her band The Jaguars. She is now based in Los Angeles, California.
