About

"I’ve been littering my town with tapes and CD-R’s since I was 15. It all started with 80's industrial, mainly what was coming out of Wax Trax. It all seemed so straightforward and simple. I figured it couldn’t be too hard to do why not give it a shot. Some guys and I started a band called Adam hates you. It started off kind of punk/industrial but moved more toward funkmetal and I ditched out. I spent a while making strange noises in my basement with tape manipulation, screaming, feedback, and some effects. I did some stuff with a few different people and that sort of settled into another regular group we called St. Thomas Discipline. We recorded about 8 hours worth of noise music and worked it down into a 90 minute tape and promptly forgot about it. Around then is when I got fairly into computer music and became more capable of a listenable solo attempt. I decided 'Knar' would be a good name for some reason and started making tape after tape of bad industrial with my 386 PC. I got into gabba for a little while but soon realized it was really the trashcan of electronic music. Music like Meatbeat Manifesto, Download, Aphex Twin, Shizuo, Merzbow, and Squarepusher pushed me in what I felt was the right direction. I wanted to do a drum and bass / industrial album. It was called neo-industrial zombie. People seemed to get a kick out of it and i enjoyed making it. Since then I’ve had tracks on several compilations, and a CD coming out on A-klass Rekids at www.aklass.com, a CD out on DTRASH Records, and there are plans to do more releases with an up and coming label called no room for talent at www.widerstand.org/nrft and its about bloody time i get my own website, so watch out for www.knarland.com coming very soon."
