Kong

About

Kevin Cook McLaurin (March 18, 1969 - November 1, 2024) was a hip hop recording artist who rapped under the stage name “Kong”. He was a member of the Monsta Island Czars, an NYC-based hip hop super-group featuring notable members such as MF Grimm (its founder), the late great MF Doom and his late cousin undefined.

Kong's character arguably made him a fan favorite as he displayed his lyrical skill on songs "1,2,1,2" and "Make It Squash," both of which were produced by DOOM]. The success of both the DOOM and M.I.C albums landed Kong opportunities to shine on projects with Backwoodz Studioz (THE CHALICE and The Reavers albums) and Backwoodz Studioz (CX Kidtronik, and DJ for Saul Williams' album, KRAK ATTACK).
