Kristin Korb

About

American jazz upright bassist and vocalist. With an impressive teaching background that spans prestigious institutions like the University of Southern California and Central Washington University, Kristin Korb's passion for music education is as evident as her performance prowess. It was while she was a student at University of California, San Diego, that her professor, Bertram Turetzky, inspired her to sing and play the bass at the same time. She also studied with Ray Brown, with whom she made her recording debut, Introducing Kristin Korb, in 1996. She has since released nine albums plus the latest double album Why Not?/What If? (2021). In 2011, love led Kristin Korb to Denmark where she now resides with her Danish husband, continuing her musical career – and to inspire budding musicians through educational outreach programs across Europe and the US.
