Larry Parnes (1930-1989) was an English pop music manager, concert promoter & entertainment entrepreneur. After Tommy Hicks did an impromptu vocals performance at The 2 I's in London's West End with The Vipers, it was Parnes who became his manager in 1956. Having convinced Hicks to change his name to Tommy Steele (accompanied by The Steelmen), the Decca single "[r2600241]" helped them both to success.
