Larry Parnes

Larry Parnes (1930-1989) was an English pop music manager, concert promoter & entertainment entrepreneur. After Tommy Hicks did an impromptu vocals performance at [b][i]The 2 I's[/i][/b] in London's West End with [b]The Vipers[/b], it was Parnes who became his manager in 1956. Having convinced Hicks to change his name to Tommy Steele (accompanied by The Steelmen), the Decca single "[r2600241]" helped them both to success.
