Born in Buffalo, NY, Lary 7 is a multimedia engineer/artist who works with vintage and forgotten electronic instruments and technologies. In the past, Lary 7 has taken the unique approach of modifying household appliances in order to give them a musical voice. As an artist, he uses analogue equipment whenever possible, steering away from anything digital. Lary 7 is a former student of avant-garde artist Tony Conrad,

He is a co-founder of Plastikville Records and has been a major figure in the New York experimental underground music scene since the late 70's. He has worked within musical projects with diverse artists, such as Swans, Jimi Tenor, Jarboe, Foetus, Tony Conrad, Alexander Hacke, Felix Kubin, Larry Mullins, Dorit Chrysler, Bernhard Gal, Jakob Kirkegaard, Ken Montgomery, Michael Evans and Gordon Monahan.
