LeRoy McNees

US Dobro player. In 1965 LeRoy McNees was introduced to Steve Hatfield by pastor Jim Despain. The two started to play some songs together. It didn't take a long time and the two musicians played regularly at their home church. They were even invited by other churches to play their Christian songs. In January 1966 the duo played their first real concert together. During the next few years the two started to write songs together. They perform together under the name Steve & Leroy. After a few years, in 1974, the brother of Steve, Dave Hatfield joined them and they started to perform and record as a trio, Steve, Leroy & Brother Dave. in 1977 the name was changed to Born Again Bluegrass Band. They play a mixture of Gospel, Christian music and Bluegrass/Country.
