About

'Les Bleu Poudre' were a group of humorists from Montreal, Quebec. They started in the TV Show '100 Limite' (TQS) in 1988. At first, the formula of the show was not quite definite, but after the first season and the departure of Dany Laferrière from the group, their style and signature started to be popular.
'100 Limite' was a parody of news broadcasting. Presented by Pierre Brassard (also known as Raymond Beaudoin), the show had many collaborators, such as Jici Lauzon (as Jean-Claude Peinard), Yvon Landry (as Jacques St-Jacques), Jacques Chevalier (as Jacques Chevalier Longueuil / Ginet Robidoux), André Robitaille (as Michel Boudichon / Fernand McCalotte), Richard Z. Sirois (sports section), Anthony Kavanagh, Chantal Lamarre and finally Ghislain Taschereau (as Ghislain Boulevard Taschereau / Prof Mégantic / Yasser Arafat / Bob Binette).
The show soon began to be famous. One of the most popular running gag concerned the singer Michèle Richard who had previously been a guest in the first season on the show. Their ability to sample every kind of stock archive and re-dubbing them proved very effective.
In 1991, after the cancellation of the show and the leaving of many collaborators, 'Les Bleu Poudre' were only comprised of Brassard, Longueuil, Taschereau and Sirois. They then started a daily show on the radio station CKOI FM ('Les Midis Fous').
In 1992, they came back to television (Radio-Canada) to present a new show called 'Taquinons la planète!', which was a new version of '100 Limite' with more budget and special effects.
In 1994, they left Radio-Canada and came back to CKOI FM for the show 'Le Retour des Bleu Poudre' which lasted in 1997. This is where Pierre Brassard managed to fool people on the phone such as His Holiness Pope John Paul II and Queen Elizabeth II. Sometimes, they used vocal samples of Michel Louvain to call people around the world with various reactions.
The group disbanded in 1997 but left a very good impression on people in general for their crude, un-politically correct humor.
