Lillian Askeland

Norwegian country singer, born 1 August 1949 in Bergen.

She won the Talent 65 competition and made her debut on record two years later with the single "Du har ett sätt at kyssas, älskling". She had a breakthrough in 1968 with the single: Jeg er lant fra deg der hjemme / En plass i solen.

In the mid-1970s she was one of the artists in Vidar Lønn-Arnesen's "Vill vest" stable on NRK, where she had the stage name Lilly The Kid. This TV program resulted in an album of the same name, and was then continued in the series Landhandelen, which in turn led to the album series Countryfest, which came in seven editions in the years 1976–1981.

Lillian Askeland has used several bands as backing over the years, including Silver Stars, Country Team, Gruppesax, Krag Jørgensen Band and United Stage

She has also been a music teacher at Greverud Primary School and Hobøl Junior High School.
