Originally from Washington D.C., in 1963 she was signed to Motown by Smokey Robinson whilst part of the The Miracles show. The contract turned out to be invalid as she had recently turned 15 years old and therefore needed parental consent, which was not forthcoming while Linda was still in school.

She has recorded for undefined, undefined, undefined (with Ed Townsend and Quincy Jones), undefined and undefined (with producer Gerry Granahan).

She enjoyed a lengthy recording career in the 1960s and 1970s performing as Lyn Roman.

Since 2001, she has been selling real estate in Las Vegas, Nevada.
