    Little Brazil

Little Brazil is a four-piece rock band born in 2002 on the wide city streets of Omaha, NE. These same streets gave birth to the iron-hot Saddle Creek Records scene where members of Little Brazil first cut their musical teeth. Lead singer/songwriter Landon Hedges preformed his first tours of duty as a wide-eyed teenager, recording an album and touring the country as a bass player for the Bright Eyes offshoot, Desaparecidos. Hedges also took on guitar duties in The Good Life, Cursive front man Tim Kasher's side project. After a few years sharpening his skills as a sideman to these formidable talents, it became apparent the Hedges’ true calling was as a budding singer and songwriter. Hedges then turned to his talented group of peers and formed Little Brazil.

Enter Danny Maxwell on bass guitar and Corey Broman on drums. Both are life-long friends of Hedges who spent their early years in the Dundee-Benson neighborhood of Omaha. These three grew up writing songs together, playing music at house parties, ice-cream parlors and coffee shops. While Hedges honed his skills in his former bands, Broman and Hedges spent time as the rhythm section of the piano-laced pop group Son, Ambulance. All three would come together in the Superchunk and Pedro The Lion influenced outfit, Secret Behind Sunday. Last to enter the Little Brazil fold would be Austin Britton, their secret weapon as a talented guitar player and multi-instrumentalist. The arty Britton first met Hedges at a show by Omaha’s indie-folk legend Simon Joyner. This meeting sparked a musical friendship between Hedges and Britton that would solidify the original Little Brazil line-up. Recently the group has added Greg Edds on guitar and Oliver Morgan on drums to replace Britton and Broman respectively, and to cement Little Brazil as a full-fledged touring act.
