Musicians from Tennesse, including Hank Crawford who was a music major at Tennesse State University at the time.
In an interview in 2005, Crawford said "At that time we didn’t have a singer in the band. Somebody had to, so I said, ‘I’ll try,’ because I had experience singing around Memphis in Baptist churches. It
was a long shot, but I did it."
The track "Christene" was included on the compilation [m588445] which won the 47th GRAMMY for "Best Historical Album".
