Lo-fi punk band from Copenaghen, Denmark, broke up in 2002. Lokum started in Svendborg, Sydfyn originally as a girl punk band. (The fantastic name Lokum was invented by IncontroLasse.) But Daniel quickly came into the picture and the original lead singer Maria was later replaced by myself, namely: Pete concrete who from the beginning sang about old horror movies. There are two tracks before my time on the Svendborg CD compilation Spand. One with Maria and one with sample vocals from the old Borris Karloff Frankenstein film. The band re-emerged as the Ugyggelige Lokum in Vildmarken 7a in Skårup and rehearsed for a short period in the house's daily living room. Shortly after, we switched back to the old name Lokum and actually recorded a demo tape in the Wilderness' daily living room, but over time, one band member after another has moved to K-Town to find happiness. The band today consists of Daniel on drums , Pede on bass , Pete Concrete vox and Katja guitar . When the band played in Svendborg, there were two bassists associated: Andreas Longbeiner and a short transition: Kæld . In our lifetime, we have, among other things, played for the New Year's concert Y2K (2001) with Incontrollados, been on the DK tour with Et Skridt Af Gangen, Asbest and Incontrollados (again, again) in 2001 and played for various events in Ungdomshuset. The style is old-fashioned punk and hardcore, inspired by especially old American bands, mixed up with lots of surf elements, without there being any down-to-earth new school Epitaph pop shit over it. The texts deal with, among other things. about old horror movies such as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, skating and clammy rich pigs living on østerbro. We are proud to be part of the Copenhagen scene that currently has so many cool bands to offer.
