Peruvian Garage/Surf band from Callao, Peru.
(1961-1965)
"Los Incas Modernos" were the first rock group to record a LP in Peru, with songs composed by them. They were originally called "The Jay Hawks" (1961-1963), but in 1963, they changed their name to "Los Incas Modernos" (required by the Sol (7) label to record their LP). Its members were: Manuel Garcia Quiroga (lead guitar and main composer), Luis Bermudez Molina (second guitar), Hector Wu Geng (bass) and Hugo Diaz Da Silva (drums). The different sound quality between some songs on the album is due to the fact that part of it was recorded in the Iempsa Studio and another part in a home studio.
