    He founded the Chorale des Jeunesses Musicales de France in 1947, and directed them until 1996. He was also a teacher at the Conservatoire de Paris (1966 to 1981).
    As a conductor, he has led the Orchestre Des Jeunesses Musicales De France, Orchestres Colonne, Orchestre Jean-François Paillard, Orchestre Lamoureux.
