About

Cuban musician, born 15 February 1965 in Santa Clara, Cuba. He spent all his childhood and adolescence in Ranchuelo (Cuba) before he moves to France in 1991.

In 1977 he began his study of the guitar. A year later, he took his first steps at the World Festival of Youth and Students in Havana. Thereafter he continued to discover and perfect this instrument in parallel with the electric bass, which became his main instrument from 1983, the year he acquired the status of music professional.

In 1990 he recorded with Omar Sosa and Xiomara Laugart in the album "Fe" (which included the song "Qué Manera De Quererte"), Emiliano Salvador (notable Cuban pianist affirmed in considerable jazz festivals in America and Europe), Arturo Sandoval (worldwide famous trumpet player), Afrocuba (a formation made up of eight musicians accompanying Silvio Rodríguez, popular international poet of committed song), as well as many others.

In France since 1991, starting by winning the Django Reinart competition with the group "Electrogene" that same year, he has worked with recognized groups and artists such as the Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodriguez. He notably played in national and international tours with Cheb Mami in 1996 and with Dany Brillant in 1997. In 1998, he participated as bassist and backing vocalist for the song "Désillusionniste" from the album "L'Un Pour L'Autre" by Maurane. He was also a member of the Latin dance trio "Cubaïla" (which released one of the 1998 summer hits "La Charanga"), a group for which he also composed two tracks. In this capacity, he participated in the composition of a song for TF1 Jeunesse: "Le Groove de Lola" from the album "L'Albom Waka", and he produced film music for the 2003 feature film "Más Vampiros En La Habana".

He has also worked in collaborations (with rapper Mangu, Tony Parker, Matt Houston, among others) in the movements of hip-hop, rap, urban music, salsa, R&B... and many more other compositions that he produces in his studio in Aubervilliers on measure.
