    Worked with : Albert Nicholas, Doc Cooke, Red Allen, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong and King Oliver.
    Russell was Louis Armstrong's musical director for many years. Known for writing/co-writing the songs: "Come Back Sweet Papa" (aka ""Get 'Em Again Blues"), "Saratoga Shout", and "Back O' Town Blues".
