Swedish musician, music producer and songwriter, stage name Embee, formerly Dj Embee and Hälsan Själv, born February 24, 1977 in Badelunda, Västmanland.
He started Looptroop (now Looptroop Rockers) together with Promoe in the early 1990s. Has released two EPs, a number of singles and mixtapes and at the end of 2004 released the debut album "Tellings From Solitaria" (which has won a Grammy). In 2010 he released second solo album "The Mellow turning moment" on Bad Taste Records. Embee has worked with artists such as Maia Hirasawa, Timbuktu, Annika Norlin, Jojje Wadenius, Nina Ramsby, Daniel Lemma, Capleton, Dilated Peoples and José González.
In 2006, the album "Mash Hits" was released where, as the name suggests, he re-produced and mixed together various well-known hits, so-called mashups.
In 2010 Embee released the album Skuggpoeten, a collaboration with folk singer and composer Esmeralda Moberg and his father Roger Bergkvist.
Latest release is 2013's four-track EP Machine Park Jogger.
In 2012 and 2013, Embee wrote the music for the symphony Fair Ground together with Promoe, Seinabo Sey, Cleo and Ayla Adams. The performance was played at Norrlandsoperan in October 2013 together with a full symphony orchestra conducted by Josef Rhedin.
In 2017, Embee was inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame together with the other members of Looptroop Rockers.
He is the son of Roger Bergkvist.
