Malcolm Smith

British classical trumpeter and Professor of Trumpet. Born in Gloucester May 24, 1946; died in London June 19, 2001.
He studied at the Royal College of Music, London. Shortly after leaving the RCM, he became Principal Trumpet/Cornet with BBC Concert Orchestra (1969-1982). Former Co-Principal Trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra (1982-1988). Principal Trumpet in the Orchestra Of The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden from 1991. He was chairman of the ROH orchestra committee from 1997 to 2000.
Professor of Trumpet at the Royal College of Music.
