Mark Anthony Orchestra

The Mark Anthony Orchestra was a late 1950s / early 1960s backing ensemble used on recordings relating to, or overseen by [a1074304] aka Anthony J. Hilder. No doubt Mark Anthony is the same person in another backing group used by Hilder, The Mark Anthony Band. According to the notes by Raymond A. Baradat on the 1999 Rare L.A. Tracks (West Coast Style Vintage R&B And Doo-Wop, 1956-1964) compilation album, Mark Anthony was an American Italian pianist "who played piano in the black idiom" .

The Mark Anthony Orchestra backed Billy Watkins on [r7365603], released on Challenge 59056 in 1959, and Marc Wayne on the B side of [r8709292], released on CT (3) in 1960.
