French-Russian gothic metal band founded in 2003 by the singer-songwriter Alina Dunaevskaya and drummer David Verbecq. Markize have performed concerts in France, Belgium and the Netherlands together with such bands as The Old Dead Tree, Cult of Luna, Eths and Watcha and were invited to appear on the American compilation A World of Sirens with their track "Another Breath". In September 2010, Tarja Turunen chose Markize to play with her as her main support in Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Finland, France, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium.
